THE FINAL TWO EVENTS OF THE 4TH ANNUAL BUCKEYE LATE MODEL DIRT WEEK IS ON TAP FOR BRUSHCREEK MOTORSPORTS PARK AND PORTSMOUTH RACEWAY PARK

With at great turnout of 52 drivers last weekend, we head to the final two events of the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by the the ULTIMATE Mid Ohio Valley and the ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series. We have seen great racing the first 3 events with a different winner each night. The Atomic Speedway played host to the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Opener and had Eddie Carrier Jr of Salt Rock WV in victory lane. The second night at Moler Raceway Park for the Ike Moler Tune up, it was R J Conley of Wheelersburg OH pulling out the win. Then in night three, "Chubzilla" Chub Frank of Bear Lake PA was the winner of the Don & Hans Gross Memorial.

Next up is the 4th Annual Burn Burner at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles OH. Jackie Boggs won this event in 2015 and 2016. The defending champion in 2017 was Tyler Carpenter. If any one of these two win Friday it will be 4 different winners for this Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week. Current point leader Tim Dohm has been the most consistent the first weekend with 3 top 5 finishes, but 2016 Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Champion Rod Conley is only 3 points behind and lurking in 3rd spot is the ULTIMATE MOV Point Leader Eddie Carrier Jr just 8 points behind.

For Portsmouth Raceway Park and the Finale, this will be the first visit to the speedway for the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by the ULTIMATE MOV & BOB Series. Portsmouth plays host to the Dirt Track World Championship in October paying $100,000 to the winner. We will crown the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Champion Saturday night and guarantee the winner a spot in the DTWC worth $2,000 to start. Again, if any of the top finishers in points make the DTWC on their own or takes the Jim Dunn Memorial provisional on October 6th, then it goes down the standings to the next qualified driver not in the show.

Every driver on this tour is trying to position themselves for a provisional spot in either the Jim Dunn Memorial at Midway Speedway on October 6th or the Dirt Track World Championship at Portsmouth Raceway Park on October 18th thru the 20th. All regional drivers want to make either of these shows on their own but a guaranteed provisional spot would give them some easy minds going into October.

So for every fan that loves Super Late Model racing and the drivers of the MOV and BOB ULTIMATE Regions we look forward to seeing you at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex Friday August 3rd and Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday August 4th for the Finale. We thank all that has supported the ULTIMATE Series so far this season as we grow into your new Regional Series for the MOV and BOB covering OH, WV, KY, and IN.

We want to thank all the marketing sponsors for this event and will continue to add as we get more companies and businesses to join the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Sponsor Family. Again, for dirt racing to continue to be great, you need all four component to keep it going: Sponsors, Tracks, Fans and Race Teams.

CONLEY SWEEPS NIGHT #2 OF 4TH ANNUAL BUCKEYE LATE MODEL DIRT WEEK AT MOLER

FASTRAK Companies International / Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week - By Wesley Outland

WILLIAMSBURG, OH - The second round of the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week co-sanctioned by ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley/Battle of the Bluegrass was at the Moler Raceway Park Racing, the intense fast ¼ mile in Williamsburg, Ohio for a $3000 to win $400 to start feature on a full moon Friday Summer evening in front of a capacity crowd on hand. 24 competitors signed in to continue the quest for the $3000 prize, #10 Eddie Carrier Jr. continued his momentum from winning the opener the previous night at Atomic Speedway turning the track in 13.046 seconds in VP Race Fuels QUICKTIME single car time trials. Heat races we’re three in total and Heat 1 went to #23 Cody Mahoney and Heat 2 to #71 Rod Conley finally Heat 3 to #7 Mike Maresca. #71c RJ Conley would take $102.50 in the Moler Money Fans Dash and from there the field would watch him go flag to flag from the pole position to win Night #2 at Moler Raceway Park.

The race would consist of spectacular racing through the entire field but up front #71c RJ Conley was simply in another zip code. Even after caution and restarts for single car spins and then the major multi car incident involving #32 Chad Stapleton, #91 Blake Naylor and #44 Mark Frazier, followed by the wild rim riding in the late going up the outside retaining wall for #1c Chad Oberson, nothing would keep Conley from capturing the checkered flag for the $3000 show over a hard charging #6t Tim Dohm who simply admitted ill handling car conditions and hung up on lap traffic force his runner up finish. Steve Casebolt in the #c9 would recover from bad luck the previous night and during hot laps to prevail rally and take the top three podium finish while #12 Josh Rice and #23 Cody Mahoney rounded out the Top Five finishers.

CARRIER JR SURVIVES LATE RALLY TO CAPTURE BUCKEYE LATE MODEL DIRT WEEK OPENER AT ATOMIC SPEEDWAY

FASTRAK Companies International / Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week - By Wesley Outland

CHILLICOTHE, OH - The atmosphere was ecstatic and electric in Waverly, Ohio for the mid-week kick off Thursday night show that was the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week sanctioned by the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley and Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series co-sanctioning the first race at Atomic Speedway. 32 Super Late Models rang the bell for the opening race for $3000 to win and $400 to start. When the dust settled after a full moon Thursday gala it was the #10 Eddie Carrier Jr. to survive a late charge by #71 Rod Conley and #42 Chris Garnes after the bad misfortunes for #11 Jared Hawkins to officially get the Ohio speed week into high gear.

The evening would get underway before sunset in front of a stellar crowd, #6T Tim Dohm (2014 FASTRAK World Champion) set the bar into action turning a 13.397 second lap around the 3/8th mile for VP Racing Fuels QUICKTIME Qualifying. Bad luck would hit the young lady in the #27 Kryptonite chassis of Lauren Longbrake from Columbus, OH after the brace on the right front broke causing her car to hit the yuke tire and the retaining wall in turn three, red flag would halt qualifying for ten minutes.

The field would be set with three 10 lap heat races won by #71 RJ Conley, #10 Eddie Carrier Jr. and #28 Tyler Carpenter. The top 6 fast qualifiers competed in a 8 lap MONEY Dash as $122.50 went to the driver of #11 Jared Hawkins and a racing fan in the crowd that had the winning ticket in the unique interaction for the fans to be part of the show. With the top 6 locked into the A-Main from qualifying and 12 drivers transferred from the heat races. #12 Doug Drown from Wooster, OH would suffer bad luck exiting turn three losing the left rear tire and parts flying off his car ending his evening. The remaining field would be stacked in a 12 lap last chance showdown taking the top 4 finishers. In this race we saw the return of young Lauren Longbrake that crashed out during qualifying, missed her heat race and then rallied in the B-main to just miss making the 40 lap feature by one spot. Drivers with Provisionals to be locked in suffered severe damage unable to answer the call including Drown and 3rd Heat winner Tyler Carpenter suffered engine failures ending his opportunity 9th for the feature. That allowed #511 Chris Lockhart and Longbrake to transfer into the show.

The race would get underway after the spectacular 4 wide salute with fireworks hyping the crowd ready for the green flag to unfurl, Hawkins would get the early jump on the field but Tim Dohm and the Conley’s in their Rocket chassis we’re hot on their tails in the early going. The first caution would fly when #24 James Morey spun off turn two. On the restart Hawkins would take off but go back to yellow again on lap 7 when contact happened on the restart as the #c9 Steve Casebolt from Richmond, IN stalling entering the top of turn 2. The yellow would fly again after the #71’s of Rod Conley and RJ Conley door slammed each other collecting also #32 Chad Stapleton. On the restart a sequence of more yellows would halt the action a total of 7 times during the duration of the event.

All the while Jared Hawkins would continue to sail away from the field opening up an interval of almost 5 seconds at one time and quickly maneuvering around lap traffic. The climax moment of the race was the 6th caution when #71 RJ Conley would tangle hard into the turn three wall with #6 Travis Carr, the end result was Conley protesting his position which forced series and track officials to put him on the tow truck sending him to the pit area ending his night.

With Hawkins still out in front Conley, Dohm and a fantastic performance by #42 Chris Garnes from Ripley, WV starting 17th in the feature to come strong to the front producing a charge to try and spoil the upset with furious racing at times four-five wide at different times around the high banked 24 degree racing surface. Also, great drives through the field was made by #12 Ryan Montgomery and #44 Mark Frazier defending Atomic Speedway super late model champion performed great drives as well. Lap 31 with 9 laps to go Hawkins would blow a right rear tire after hitting something forcing his great night to end in disappointment giving the lead to Carrier Jr. The race would commence with the final charge by Conley and Garnes making every effort to run down “The Salt Rock Express” from West Virginia. Garnes during the last sprint to the finish would drive up the cushion way on the top side to try to pull a shocking finish and was up to Conley at the checkered flag. Eddie Carrier Jr. would even run down the back marker cars again to hold off the pack as Carrier would take opening night of the 4th Annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week at Atomic Speedway with the crowd applauding him with a standing ovation and roaring crescendo.

2018 BUCKEYE LATE MODEL DIRT WEEK RUNNER-UP WILL RECEIVE JIM DUNN MEMORIAL PROVISIONAL

4th annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt week starts Wednesday, July 25th at Jackson County Speedway

With the 4th annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week less than a month away, officials from both the Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series and the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series continue preparations for the biggest and most highly anticipated mini-series in the country for dirt Super Late Models. On the heels of the announcement that the 2018 Series Champion receiving a provisional in the $100,000 to Win 38th annual Dirt Track World Championship for the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series on October 18-19-20th at Portsmouth Raceway Park (OH), the series runner-up won’t be left out in the cold for his efforts.

The 2018 Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week runner-up in the final points standings will receive a provisional starting position in the prestigious 36th running of the Jim Dunn Memorial on Saturday, October 6th at Midway Speedway, located southeast of Columbus in Crooksville, OH. The $10,000 to win event, promoted by Gibby's Dirt Track Nation, honors the legendary Dunn, the winner of the 1981 Dirt Track World Championship, who passed away in 1983 as a result of a crash in Paducah, KY.

"It's a win-win for both of us. A chance for one of the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week drivers to get a way in to the prestigious Jim Dunn Memorial and a good way to help promote our race to a sanctioning body. Maybe paving the way for a great working relationship for the future." Offered Michael Gibson, promoter of the Jim Dunn Memorial and owner of Gibby's Dirt Track Racing Nation. "Looking forward to working with (Ultimate MOV series director) Robbie (Cyrus), (Fastrak President) Stan (Lester) and the whole gang here at Gibby's Dirt Track Racing Nation. Working together, I think is the key to success in today’s Motorsports world and that’s the plan for us in the future." He added.

Current Ultimate MOV points leader, Tyler Carpenter is the defending race winner of the Jim Dunn Memorial and is also a two-time winner of the race (2017 & 2014). His father, Freddie Carpenter won the prestigious event in 2016. Other recent winners include Jared Hawkins (2015), Jackie Boggs (2013) and Zach Dohm (2012). The “Million Dollar Man” Donnie Moran has won the event the most of anyone with six victories including his win in the inaugural race in 1983. His most recent victory came in 2008.

Steve Shaver has won the race three times while Jack Boggs, Davey Johnson, Bart Hartman and Earl Pearson Jr., join T. Carpenter as two-time winner. Ned Lucas, Ben Hess, Freddie Smith, Larry Bond, Mike Balzano, Cortney Clewell, Corey Conley, Rick Auckland and Ray Cook have all won once. The race was not held in 2011 as well as in 1998 and 1984. The Jim Dunn Memorial began in 1983 at the now close St. Clairsville Speedway and has since been to three other tracks including Midway Speedway, which has hosted the race 25 of the 36 events held. Other tracks that have hosted the Jim Dunn Memorial includes; Muskingum County Speedway and Ohio Valley Speedway.

Each of the Buckeye LM Dirt Week events will be co-sanctioned by the Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series and the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series. Both tours combining their efforts will surely bring together the top drivers from the state of Ohio as well as the neighboring states of Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and more.

Parkersburg, WV standout, Tyler Carpenter comes into the 2018 Buckeye LM Dirt Week as the defending series champion after capturing the 2017 title with his third career Buckeye LM Dirt Week victory. That checkered flag came at Atomic Speedway in the 2017 Series Finale on July 29th, 2017. Jackie Boggs is the all-time career wins leader in the series brief three-year history with four victories. Carpenter is second with three as Devin Moran is next with two. Six other drivers, Duane Chamberlain, Jason Jameson, Jeff Babcock, Doug Drown, Brandon Sheppard and Jared Miley have collected at least one victory apiece as there have been 15 total races held over the first three years of the series.

The week kicks off with six consecutive $3,000 to Win features beginning on Wednesday, July 25th with the series' first ever appearance at Jackson County Speedway in Jackson, OH. Then on Thursday, July 26th a short 40-minute trip west is next as Atomic Speedway in Waverly, OH hosts the series for the fifth all-time event there, the most of any track in tour history. On Friday, July 27th, the series travels even further west by 80 minutes to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH for the second ever race there before ending the first week on Saturday, July 28th with a 200-mile trip northeast to NAPA Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH and the third ever race there at the northern most track on the schedule.

The second week begins on Thursday, August 2nd with the track set to host "to be announced" soon. Then on Friday, August 3rd, it's onto Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, OH for the next to last race and third ever event for the series there. On Saturday, August 4th, it's a short 45 minutes trip southeast for the Series Finale, paying $5,000 to Win at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH in the series first ever race at the southern Ohio facility.

BUCKEYE LATE MODEL DIRT WEEK READY FOR 2018 TOUR

Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week is now a month away and the staff is working hard to make this the best Dirt Week for everyone. We will continue to look for more things to make the week unique and attract the best regional racers for the fans of the ULTIMATE MOV and ULTIMATE BOB to enjoy.

Our mission is to make the ULTIMATE MOV and Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week fan oriented. We will continue the Fan Experience with the Driver Autograph Sessions and the Super 6 Fan Dash. Our first Fan Dash, back at the I 77 Speedway event was won by Tyler Carpenter. The Fan Dash works like this. At the drivers autograph tent, fans sponsor the fan dash for $5 a chance. Your name will be put in a drawing and 6 will be drawn out in order and put in eggs with numbers 1 thru 6. The drivers will pick your egg with the starting number on it and after 8 laps the winner will split the money with the fan. The first Fan Dash was $445 for the driver and the winning fan, a total of $890. We again thanks George's Inn for sponsoring the ULTIMATE Fan Experience. If any businesses around the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week tracks want to be the sponsor the the ULTIMATE Fan Experience, we would love to have you.

The drivers will be competing for many prizes over the week and we are still working on more. We will have the ULTIMATE Fan Dash money, a great point fund for the top 10, 2 cases of VP Oil Lubricants to a random draw by the fast timer, a free spring from Swift Springs to the winner running the Swift Spring sticker on the car, AR Bodies certificates and the big one. The winner gets a provisional for the Dirt Track World Championship at Portsmouth Raceway Park in October worth between $2,000 to $100,000 depending on where you finish.

The 4th Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week is over $100,000 in total purse money. If you have a perfect week, a driver can win over $23,000. The worst you can do is $350 and we are working to make that high just to show up.

Again, we thank everyone from the tracks that signed on, the fans that supports Buckeye Dirt Week and the ULTIMATE MOV and Battle of the Bluegrass, the drivers that come to these events and the sponsors that makes all this possible. Without all three, we cannot make this a reality.
